Networks come in all shapes and sizes. Understanding what your network looks and feels like can help unlock its potential.
We are all part of networks - family, friendship, professional networks. Understanding how networks differ from each other can help you make the most of them. Some networks may be more tightly-knit, others may be more action-focused, others may have more ‘porous’ boundaries than others - allowing new members to enter more easily.
Of course, it’s hard to draw clear-cut boundaries between network ‘categories’. However knowing roughly what ‘type’ your network most closely resembles can help guide your decisions with regards to things like: engagement, activities, online platforms.
