How is your network doing? Measuring its impact is one way of knowing.
Words like ‘impact assessment’, ‘evaluation’ and ‘KPIs’ don’t excite most people. But knowing your network is the key to unlocking its potential. By measuring your network’s impact, you could discover patterns of behaviour you didn’t know existed, identify what is not working and decide how to address it.
There are many things you could measure in your network. Who are the key players? What are the relationships between members? What is the level of ‘cohesion’ (or sense of community) between people?
Indicators for networks are constantly being developed. We are exploring some ways of measuring networks with the Community of Practice and OSCA.
